Less than 48 hours away from Israel.

Here I am, with less than 48 hours until I arrive in Israel, and I’ve still got a lot to do as always – like pack! It’s no problem though. I’m good at taking care of things last minute. I guess it comes from a life where I used to be a procrastinator. :)

I feel really good about my preparation for the trip. I’ve talked to half a dozen people who have visited or lived in Israel, and read about each spot I’m visiting in the Lonely Planet travel guide. My itinerary is all set (see below), and I’m mentally prepared for anything that comes my way.

I even have a web cam to bring with me this time so that I can communicate with students at C-A on the web through a video conference. I’m hoping to conduct a “scavenger hunt” activity with students where they ask me to find out some things about the history, geography, and people of Israel and I report back to them a few days later via video. If you are interested to read more about this, check out Flat Kat’s page by clicking on the tab above.

Check out my itinerary below, and check back soon! I look forward to some more great comments. Now, if you’ll excuse me, all I have to do is get a hotel for my first night in Tel Aviv, pick up a few last-minute items at the store, and take care of a few things around the house so my wife doesn’t have to pick up after me when I’m gone…

Thanks for checking in Hunter! You have checked in quite a bit and I appreciate it. I miss you guys, and it was great to see you during the video conference. Sorry Mr. Roberg’s big head took up the screen most of the time – he doesn’t know that I’m the more handsome one of us and I should be the face of the video conference next time. I’ll have to break it to him lightly. :)

Israel has been fantastic and I hope you could all visit someday. Seeing all of the different people and sights has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, next to India. I just hope that our trip to China is as good as our trips to India and Israel have been. Traveling is the best!
